     Version 2 of VENTURE-PC.
     The VENTURE-PC files are distributed in FOUR 1.44 MB diskettes.
     Please read the README file which is in diskette 3 for changes
     in this version of VENTURE.

     Diskette 1 contains the VENTURE.EXE program in compressed format.

VENT2.EXE

     To place VENTURE on your hard disk, create a subdirectory
called VENTURE , place the first disk in an appropriate diskette drive
and copy the file to your hard disk. To uncompress the VENTURE executable
type
     VENT2

     Diskette 2 contains the FORTRAN sources in compressed format:
VENTFOR.EXE  - DRIVER, RITE, REED, input processor, utilities.
VONE.EXE     - control programs VENTNEUT, DIFF, data preparation.
VTWO.EXE     - flux routines, outer iteration OUTR.
VTRI.EXE     - extrapolation and inner iteration routines.
VFOR.EXE     - edit routines.

     Diskette 3 contains the FORTRAN sources in compressed format,
VXPS.EXE     - cross section processor.
VEXP.EXE     - exposure routines.
VBUR.EXE     - burnup routines.

Note: To execute the a sample problem, copy the file to VENTURE.INP.
      For example, to run VENTURE on BWR12AC.INP, do the following:
      copy bwr12ac.inp venture.inp
      venture
The output will be in VENTURE.OUT.

     Diskette 4 contains the executable VIP in compressed format,
plus VIP FORTRAN sources, and Lahey FORTRAN error file.

Note:   All the '*.EXE' files have to be de-compressed. 

        The compression was performed using the programs of
        PKware, Inc., 7032 Ardara Ave., Glendale, WI 53209
        (telephone 414-352-3670). These programs are distributed
        as 'shareware'.

Note:  The code was tested at RSIC on a PC 486 under the MS DOS 6
       operating system and a math coprocessor.

       The source codes were not modified for the January 1995 update.
       Only the executable was replaced with one created with 
       Lahey F77L-EM/32 Version 5.01 compiler to allow execution
       on Pentium computers.
