     The PC Version is commonly known as VENTURE-PC. This is
     Version 2 of VENTURE-PC.
     The VENTURE-PC files are distributed in FIVE 1.2 MB diskettes.
     Please read the README file which is in diskette 5 for changes
     in this version of VENTURE.

     Diskettes 1, 2 and 3 contain the VENTURE.EXE program in SPLICE
format.

     To place VENTURE on your hard disk, create a subdirectory
called VENTURE , place the first disk in the high density drive
say A , and do

     SPLICE A: C:\VENTURE

VIPFOR.EXE   - FORTRAN 77 sources for VIP processor.
FORTRAN1.EXE - VENTURE FORTRAN 77 sources (A*.FOR - C*.FOR).

     Diskette 4 contains the FORTRAN sources in packed format,
FORTRAN2.EXE - VENTURE FORTRAN 77 sources (D*.FOR - M*.FOR).

     Diskette 5 contains the executable VIP in packed format,
plus sample input problems, two sample output listings.

F77L.EER - Lahey FORTRAN error file, required by VENTURE.EXE.

Note: To execute the a sample problem, copy the file to VENTURE.INP.
      For example, to run VENTURE on BWR12AC.INP, do the following:
      copy bwr12ac.inp venture.inp
      venture
The output will be in VENTURE.OUT.

Note:   FORTRAN1.EXE, FORTRAN2.EXE, FORTRAN3.EXE, VIPFOR.EXE,
        VIPEXE.EXE must be decompressed.
        Simply insert the diskette in the high
        density drive and type

        FORTRAN1
        FORTRAN2
        FORTRAN3
        VIPFOR
        VIPEXE

        The compression was performed using the programs of
        PKware, Inc., 7032 Ardara Ave., Glendale, WI 53209
        (telephone 414-352-3670). These programs are distributed
        as 'shareware'.

Note:  The code was tested at RSIC on an IBM PC/AT with 640k of
       initial memory under the DOS3.3 operating system and a math
       coprocessor.
