1. NAME AND TITLE OF DATA LIBRARY
MONTAGE-400: 100-Group Neutron Activation Cross-Section Data for Fusion Reactor Structure and Coolant Materials.
2. NAME AND TITLE OF DATA RETRIEVAL PROGRAM
RESOLVE: Retrieves data in format useful for calculations.
3. CONTRIBUTORS
Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory, University of California, Los Alamos, New Mexico.
4. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND AND INFORMATION
The initial release of the library in 1974 included some 88 activation reaction cross sections for fusion reactor coolant and structural materials. The second version extended the number of reactions to 399 (406 data sets). In this third version (421 reactions) (1) a large number of the data sets were revised and updated, (2) some new reactions were added, and (3) some of the data sets in the previous version were deleted.
5. APPLICATION OF THE DATA
Reaction cross sections are given for 100 energy groups (the GAM-II structure). The weighting function is 1/E except near 14 MeV where a thermally-broadened (T = 20 MeV) fusion peak is employed.
6. SOURCE AND SCOPE OF DATA
Half-lives were obtained from the twelfth edition of the Chart of the Nuclides (1977 revision). In addition, 62 of the cross-section sets in the previous version were replaced with new ones generated using ENDF/B-IV data as well as data for 32 new reactions.
7. DISCUSSION OF THE DATA RETRIEVAL PROGRAM
A program, RESOLVE, is provided to retrieve the data in a form useful for calculations using a code such as ANISN or DTF. RESOLVE can create "dummy" cross-section tables in the formats required for input to ANISN. The term "dummy" cross-section table implies that it is not used to describe any physical medium in the geometry of the particular ANISN calculation being performed. It is merely a table of numbers which can be multiplied by the fluxes calculated in the ANISN run.
8. DATA FORMAT AND COMPUTER
EBCDIC card images; IBM 360.
9. TYPICAL RUNNING TIME
No study has been made by RSIC of typical running times for MONTAGE-400.
